For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in
Him shall not perish but
have everlasting life.

BACKGROUND OF
EQUESTRIAN MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
HISTORY
EMI
began in 1995 with eight founding members who felt a real burden for sharing
the Gospel of Jesus Christ and uniting Christian horsepeople across the
nation and around the world. The first meeting was held at Georgetown
College in Kentucky. Besides the founding members, four other people attended
as observers and encouragers.
Since then, the membership has grown and expanded with members reaching
not only coast to coast in the United States, but also in other countries.
It currently staffs two part-time individuals to maintain the database
records of memberships, publish the bi-monthly newsletter, maintain this
website and respond to inquiries from the site.

THE
LOGO
The
logo was the result of the steering committee and the Board of Directors
asking themselves, over a period of two years, what is EMI? Here is what
evolved:
At the center of our logo and most prominent in its appearance is the
cross of Jesus Christ. This symbolizes that at the center of all we do
and most prominent is Christ. We are a ministry organization and we minister
with Christ at the center of all we do.
At the side of the cross and smaller in dimension, is the horse. Not any
particular horse, or breed, just a horse because any equine discipline
or breed is welcome. The horse is not the center of our activities so
it is not in the center of the logo. It is secondary to the cross but
instrumental in our organization.
Then finally we have the circle with the words Equestrian Ministries International
in it. This represents the people, all of us, that are joined together
around the central figures of the cross and the horse. We are joined in
a circle by our love for Christ first and foremost, and secondly, our
love of the horse. Our logo was designed to move from the center out involving
the three things, which make EMI what it is; the cross, the horse, the
people. When those three are brought together in their proper perspective,
we have Equestrian Ministries International.
